Botanical Art Workshops in Watercolours and Acrylics

David runs several small-group workshops per year in Armidale. For information and dates for up-coming workshops please contact David.

He also conducts classes for individuals on an on-going basis in his studio. If you are interested in individual tuition, whether just for a single class or for on-going guidance, please contact David.

David also teaches workshops at localities outside Armidale. He is currently organising a workshop that he will conduct in the north Queensland rainforest ... so if you think you would like to combine an art workshop with a holiday in the Wet Tropics, read on and please contact David for more details...

Tropical Rainforest Plants Workshop. David will be conducting a workshop on capturing the vivid colours and beauty of Australia's rainforest plants in the quiet, mountain-top, rainforest village of Paluma in 2010 (dates to be set). The small village of Paluma is situated between Townsville and Cairns, away from the coastal heat at 1000m altitude, surrounded by Wet Tropics World Heritage rainforest. The emphasis in this workshop will be on getting intensity of colour into your work, using light and shade to give your work life and realism, getting the botanical and artistic details right and using artistic touches to lift your work above the norm. Absolute beginners to experienced artists are welcome at this workshop which should prove to be a real treat. I would recommend staying at least a day or two longer than the workshop (which will be your choice of either two or three days long) to explore some of the many easy walks through the forest around Paluma and to enjoy the peace and beauty of this scenic mountain retreat.

If you wish to enquire about any classes with David please contact David by telephone (02) 6775 1367 or e-mail dmackay58@bigpond.com or post at PO Box 729 Armidale NSW 2350.
