These waterlilies are commonly seen in permanent waterways along coastal New South Wales and Queensland. This species, Nymphaea capensis, the Cape Waterlily, is originally from South Africa but is naturalised in Australia now and is often planted in ponds and lakes for its spectacular blooms.
