As the leaves of this stringybark tree age and fall from the tree they go through a series of dramatic colour changes, with colours that glow against the dull green backdrop of the forests in which this tree grows. This is a common tree of the New England Tablelands in northern New South Wales. This is a sample of the detail in this picture.
